Introducing Will Mandley 

Many of you will have spoken to our Will, he’s the Principal Recruitment Consultant for Technical and Sustainability roles across the UK food sector but he’s also a regular on the golf course at our golf days. 

Tell us a little bit about your role and what you do day-to-day. 

I’m a Principal Recruitment Consultant and head up the Technical & Sustainability division. 

My role is all about connecting the right industry professionals with the right businesses and making sure career goals and business needs align. I also work closely with both candidates and clients, offering advice and sharing my knowledge of the industry. 

How did you get into recruitment? 

After returning from travelling, I was offered an entry-level role with a temp recruitment business. 

I stayed there for two and a half years before leaving recruitment to try another industry. Then, in 2022, I decided to return to recruitment and joined Henderson Brown. 

What do you enjoy most about your job? 

The variety. No two days are the same, which definitely keeps things interesting. 

I’m also lucky enough to travel into Europe for events and enjoy a range of golf days along the way! 

What’s your favourite part of working with clients and candidates? 

I genuinely enjoy helping people, so being in a position where I can have a positive impact on someone’s career or help a business find the right person is something I really enjoy. 

What are you particularly passionate about when it comes to recruitment? 

Again, it comes back to helping people. Whether it’s supporting someone with their next career move or helping a business build the right team, it’s great to know you can make a difference. 

What would your colleagues say you’re known for? 

Probably that my personality is well suited to the sector I recruit into! 

And in another life, I think I’d make a pretty good Technical Manager. 

What do you enjoy doing outside of work? 

I regularly play golf and I’m a member at Greetham Valley, so you’ll often find me out on the course. 

What’s something people might be surprised to know about you? 

I’ve visited five out of the seven continents. I’m only missing South America and, obviously, Antarctica! 

If you weren’t working in recruitment, what do you think you’d be doing? 

Probably living in another country and enjoying the experience!
