We’re recruiting for an experienced Senior Production Manager to join a busy, high-volume food manufacturing operation.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll take ownership of the performance of your shift, leading people, improving efficiency and making sure production targets are consistently achieved.
What you’ll be doing:
- Lead and manage the production team and overall shift performance.
- Drive productivity, efficiency, quality and safety across the shift.
- Analyse production data and identify areas for improvement.
- Reduce waste, downtime and unnecessary costs.
- Work closely with Engineering and Technical teams to improve machine performance and reliability.
- Plan labour requirements and manage agency labour effectively.
- Monitor production KPIs including waste, downtime, labour efficiency and yield.
- Investigate production, quality and safety issues and put corrective actions in place.
- Develop and manage Section Managers and wider production teams.
- Carry out 1-to-1s, performance reviews and development plans.
- Support new starter training and build future talent within the team.
- Promote a strong culture of continuous improvement, food safety and high performance.
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience in a Production Manager / Senior Production Manager role.
- Strong background within FMCG, food manufacturing or another high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Experience managing production teams and shift performance.
- Comfortable working with production data and KPIs.
- Strong understanding of productivity, waste, downtime and labour efficiency.
- Confident people leader who can develop and challenge teams.
- Practical approach to continuous improvement.
- Good understanding of GMP, quality and health & safety.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with Engineering, Technical and Operations teams.
The package:
- £50,000 – £56,000 basic salary
- Up to 7.5% discretionary bonus
- 5% employer pension contribution
- Life assurance – 2x basic salary
- 23.5 days holiday including bank holidays
