We are pleased to be recruiting on behalf of a well-renowned food manufacturer for a Maintenance Engineer. This role involves maintaining, improving, and optimising manufacturing equipment and site services to maximum reliability and performance. The ideal candidate would be either electrically biased or multi-skilled and have experience across food, packaging or wider FMCG.
Maintenance Engineer
Salary: £55,000 – £57,000
Location: Wombourne, Staffordshire
Shift Pattern: Rotating days and nights shift pattern
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair a wide range of manufacturing equipment used in food production whilst complying with health and safety requirements.
- Perform both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance, with a strong focus on minimising downtime
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across operations
- Conduct fault finding on electrical and mechanical systems.
- Confident with PLC fault finding
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar role (e.g. Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, Shift Engineer, Engineering Technician, Maintenance Technician, or Electrical Maintenance Engineer, Welder, Fabricator)
- Formal qualifications in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds), supported by relevant training and experience. An 18th edition is highly desirable.
- Experience in fast paced industries such as food, packaging or wider FMCG.
- Good problem solving skills and a clear understanding of Root Cause Analysis.
