Interim Payroll Manager

ASAP Start

£250 – £450 Per Day DOE

We are seeking an experienced Interim Payroll Manager to take ownership of end-to-end payroll for a fast-paced organisation.

This is a hands-on role requiring someone who can ensure payroll is accurate, compliant and delivered on time, while also improving processes and controls.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end payroll process across multiple payrolls.
  • Process starters, leavers, salary changes, overtime, deductions, benefits and statutory payments.
  • Manage pensions, reconciliations, reporting and year-end activities.
  • Act as the payroll subject matter expert for HR, Finance, managers and employees.
  • Resolve payroll queries and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Work closely with HR and Finance to ensure accurate employee data.

Experience Required

  • Strong end-to-end UK payroll management experience.
  • Variable-hours payroll experience would be advantageous.
  • Advanced Excel skills, particularly payroll analysis and reconciliation.
  • Proven experience improving payroll processes and controls.
  • CIPP qualification desirable.

Ideal background: Someone who is hands-on, commercially minded and comfortable taking complete ownership of payroll within a busy operational environment.
