Are you a commercially minded HR Business Partner who enjoys working closely with operational leaders, solving people challenges and making a genuine difference across a business?

HR Business Partner

Location: Northern England / Scottish Borders
Salary: £50,000-£55,000

The Opportunity

Henderson Brown is delighted to be working with a leading international Consumer Goods manufacturer to recruit an experienced HR Business Partner supporting its operations across Northern England and the Scottish Borders.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on, commercially focused HR professional to become a trusted partner to business leaders, supporting day-to-day people challenges while helping deliver wider HR priorities.

The role offers a broad mix of operational HR partnering, employee relations, management coaching and involvement in people-focused projects and initiatives.

You’ll work closely with stakeholders across the business, providing practical advice, building management capability and helping ensure people practices support both employees and operational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build effective relationships with operational managers and business leaders, acting as a trusted HR partner.

  • Provide practical guidance on employee relations, performance management and people policies.

  • Support managers in resolving complex people matters with confidence, consistency and commercial awareness.

  • Contribute to workforce planning, organisational change and employee engagement initiatives.

  • Coach and develop managers to strengthen people management capability and leadership effectiveness.

  • Collaborate with the wider HR function to support the delivery of people priorities and continuous improvement.

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience in an HR Business Partner role or a broad HR generalist position with strong business partnering exposure.

  • A solid understanding of UK employment law and experience managing employee relations matters.

  • Experience working with operational teams, ideally in a multi-site or commercially driven environment.

  • Strong communication, relationship-building and influencing skills.

  • A practical, approachable and commercially aware HR style.

  • The ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining a consistent and professional approach.

Candidates from FMCG, manufacturing, logistics, retail, hospitality and other operationally focused sectors are encouraged to apply.

Why Join?

This opportunity offers the chance to work within an established international business, partnering closely with operational leaders and making a direct contribution to people and business performance.

You’ll enjoy a varied HR remit, exposure to different stakeholders and the opportunity to support meaningful improvements in leadership capability, engagement and organisational effectiveness.

It’s a particularly attractive opportunity for an experienced HR professional who enjoys being close to the business, building trusted relationships and taking ownership of people challenges.

If you’re interested in learning more, we’d be happy to have a confidential conversation.
