Job Type: Permanent
Offered Salary: £60000 - £65000 per annum + £7,200 car allowance + benefits
Job Location: Cambridgeshire
Category: FMCG

An opportunity to take ownership of shopper marketing across an established FMCG branded portfolio, building the plans, partnerships and activations that will deliver the next phase of growth.

Customer & Shopper Marketing Manager

Location: Cambridgeshire
Working Pattern: Hybrid – minimum 3 days office-based per week
Salary: Up to £65,000 + £7,200 car allowance + benefits

The Opportunity

We’re working with an established food manufacturer with a portfolio of recognised consumer brands and ambitious plans to grow its branded business.

They’re looking for a commercially minded Customer & Shopper Marketing Manager to take ownership of how their brands are brought to life across retail customers and channels.

This is an opportunity to build something.

The business has strong foundations, but its shopper marketing capability is still developing. You’ll have the freedom to establish the strategy, create structured customer activation plans and shape how investment is used to drive visibility, conversion and branded growth.

Working closely with Sales, Brand and Category, you’ll play an important role in connecting brand strategy with commercial execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and own customer and shopper marketing plans across the branded portfolio.

  • Build effective activation programmes across grocery, convenience and other relevant channels.

  • Lead retailer media, in-store, digital and shopper marketing activity.

  • Use customer, category and shopper insight to identify commercial opportunities and develop compelling investment proposals.

  • Build strong internal and external partnerships to secure buy-in and deliver successful activation.

  • Establish clear KPIs, measure performance and demonstrate return on marketing investment.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who combines strong commercial thinking with the energy and initiative to make things happen.

Ideally, you’ll bring:

  • Around five years’ experience in Customer Marketing, Shopper Marketing or Trade Marketing within FMCG.

  • Strong understanding of UK grocery retailers and shopper activation.

  • Proven examples of developing plans, gaining investment approval and delivering measurable commercial results.

  • Experience translating insight into compelling customer-facing marketing activity.

  • A collaborative, achievement-driven approach with the confidence to influence stakeholders.

Food and drink experience would be particularly relevant.

Importantly, you’ll enjoy taking ownership, challenging established thinking and creating new ways of working rather than simply maintaining existing programmes.

Why Join?

This is a chance to make a genuine impact within an established food business that is looking to strengthen and grow its branded presence.

You’ll have responsibility across the full branded portfolio, significant cross-functional exposure and the opportunity to build a more commercially effective shopper marketing approach.

The business offers a supportive, values-led culture, with the freedom to bring ideas forward and take real ownership of results.

Alongside a salary of up to £65,000 and a £7,200 car allowance, the package includes 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, pension contributions, life assurance and additional wellbeing support.

If you’re interested in learning more, we’d be happy to have a confidential conversation.
