Job Type: Permanent
Offered Salary: £40000 - £45000 per annum + car allowance & hybrid working
Job Location: West Midlands (Remote)
Category: Purchasing and Procurement

A Buyer role where you’ll lead tenders yourself, from first RFI to signed agreement, across IT, HR and Factory Services in a large multi-site business.

Buyer – Indirects

West Midlands
Hybrid: 3 days in the office / 2 days working from home
£40,000-£45,000 + £6,000 car allowance + 5% matched pension + benefits
Permanent

The Opportunity

We’re supporting a large, well-established multi-site business with the appointment of a Buyer within its procurement team, reporting to a Procurement Manager.

You’ll focus on indirect categories across IT, HR and Factory Services: meeting suppliers, running tenders and putting new supplier agreements in place.

This isn’t a purely administrative purchasing role. You’ll lead tenders from start to finish and negotiate directly with suppliers, travelling to sites and suppliers across the UK as needed, with expenses covered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare RFI, RFQ and ITT documents.
  • Lead tenders from start to finish.
  • Source new suppliers and negotiate pricing and terms.
  • Implement supplier agreements and category plans.
  • Build relationships with suppliers through regular visits and reviews.

What We’re Looking For

You’ll have end-to-end procurement experience as a Buyer or Procurement Specialist.

Tendering and negotiation experience is essential. You’ll need to talk through a tender you’ve run from start to finish, and give a negotiation example with a clear outcome.

Category and industry background are open, direct or indirect, and you don’t need to come from any particular sector. What matters most is adaptability, the ability to juggle several priorities, and building excellent supplier relationships. MCIPS, or working towards it, is beneficial but not essential.

Why Join?

You’ll get real ownership of tenders and supplier relationships, and exposure to a range of high-profile projects.

The business is widely known for internal progression and development.

The package is £40,000-£45,000 plus a £6,000 car allowance, a 5% matched pension, 33 days’ holiday including bank holidays and further benefits, with hybrid working.

If you’re interested in learning more, we’d be happy to have a confidential conversation.
